Religious Leave

Religious Leave may be granted, upon request, to all employees for observance of recognized religious events. This leave is unpaid and may be granted for up to two (2) days per year.

Talk to your supervisor to request permission to use Religious Leave.

Eligible employees are required to report the absence, and obtain a substitute when applicable.

A Schedule Employees Only

A-Schedule employees will be granted up to two (2) days of leave per year for observance of recognized religious events.

Deduction from the gross pay of the teacher for this leave shall be made at the substitute rate of pay for each day taken.

An employee may convert one day of sick leave to one day of religious leave during the school year.  the employee must submit a special leave slip to his or her supervisor at least three (3) days prior to the date the leave will be taken.  The employee need not disclose their religious beliefs verbally or in writing.

B-Schedule Employees Only

B Schedule Employees shall be granted up to two (2) days per year for observance of recognized religious events.

Deductions from the gross pay of the employee for the leave shall be made at the rate of fifteen dollars ($15.00) for each day taken.  An employee may convert one day of sick leave to one day of religious leave during the school year.  The employee need not disclose religious beliefs verbally or in writing.

Application for this Leave shall be made by completing the Request for Leave Slip.  Mark Code 52 Personal Emergency.  Under Reason for Request & Destination, enter Religious Leave.

Educational Assistants Only

Educational Assistants shall be granted up to two (2) days of leave per year for observance of recognized religious events.

Deductions from the gross pay of the employee for the Leave shall be made at the rate of twenty ($20) dollars for each day taken.  The employee need not disclose religious beliefs verbally or in writing.

An employee may convert one (1) day of sick leave to one (1) day of religious leave during the school year.

Employees use the Request for Leave slip.  Mark Code 52 Personal Emergency.  Under Reason for Request & Destination, enter Religious Leave.
