Holiday Leave

Find information about the holidays recognized by APS.

Full-time employees and part-time employees on a pro-rated basis may receive paid time off for holidays recognized by APS.

Holidays Recognized by APS

  • New Year's Day
  • Day after New Year's
  • Presidents' Day
  • Vernal Holiday
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Indigenous People's Day
  • Veterans' Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve Day
  • Christmas Day

Qualifying For Holiday Pay

All national holidays are scheduled on the day designated by common business practice.

  • In order to qualify for holiday pay you must be paid for the scheduled workday immediately before and after the holiday.
  • If a holiday occurs during your scheduled vacation, you are eligible for the paid holiday.
  • You are not eligible to receive a paid holiday when you are on an unpaid leave of absence.
