Albuquerque Public Schools provides healthy school breakfasts, lunches, and snacks to students. You're more than welcome to visit your child's cafeteria, try a lunch, and talk to their school cafeteria manager about the nutritional profile of foods served.

School Meals

  • Every meal includes one of the following varieties of milk: 1% white, fat free strawberry, fat free chocolate, or skim.

  • Each breakfast meal includes juice, fruit, and milk.

  • Every item on the menu includes Allergy and Nutrition information.

  • The menu is subject to change and demand may affect availability.

Food Allergies

For students with food allergies, the menu lists the most common food allergens contained in products served in APS meals. Allergens included:

  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • Tree Nuts
  • Peanuts
  • Sesame 
  • Soy
  • Wheat

The menu also highlights pork as an allergen when found in menu items for informational purposes intended for those with religious restrictions. 

School Menus

Our lunch and breakfast menus now are listed by school on the LINQ Menus. The menu includes pictures of menu items, information on allergens, and saturated fat, sodium and carbohydrate content. You print menus by week by clicking on the printer icon in the top right corner.

The LINQ Connect is compatible with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge only.

LINQ  menus are also available on Apple and Android devices. The menu is subject to change and demand may affect availability.

Meals can be purchased in the school cafeteria with cash, check, or money order or online through LINQ Connect

LINQ Connect 

In order to simplify students picking up their meals, we encourage parents to set up a secure online account to manage student meals through LINQ Connect . LINQ Connect charges a $2.60 service fee for each payment transaction.

Refunds

Complete the Student Lunch Refund Form including the W-9 Section on the Refund Form. The parent/guardian name and address on both parts of the form must match. Make sure to sign the W-9. The W-9 is for setting you up in the financial system to issue the refund. Please allow 3-4 weeks for your refund to be processed. Return the form in one of the following ways:

Meal Charging Policy

Students receive one breakfast and one lunch at no charge.  Milk, second meals, ala carte items must be paid at the time of purchase. Funds may be prepaid on student accounts using LINQ Connect.

Free and Reduced Meals

Under the U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines, your student may be eligible for free or reduced meals and other APS programs. More than half of the families in Albuquerque Public Schools qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through the Free/Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP). 

Qualifying for Free Meals

If any of the following conditions apply to your student, they will most likely qualify for free meals:

  • If the student is a foster child (regardless of household income)
  • If the student lives in a household that is any of the following:
    • within the income limits for free meals (see application)
    • enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    • enrolled in Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

How to Apply

Apply online by filling out the Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application. A new application must be filled out every school year. The LINQ Connect Portal is compatible with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge only.

  • Only one application needs to be filled out for each family.
  • All information on your application is confidential.

Just by completing your meal eligibility program application, you and your school may be eligible for special programs and funding. By filling out the application, you might become eligible to receive:

Under the meal eligibility program, schools can receive Title 1 funding that can be used for library materials, school supplies, field trips, tutoring programs, or software purchases.
