4. Language, Profane and/or Abusive
Using language that is crude, offensive, insulting, or irreverent; use of coarse words to show contempt or disrespect; swearing. The words are used towards another individual in an offensive or insulting manner.
Refer to #17 Harassment if the inappropriate language is based on actual or perceived characteristics, such as disability, race, ethnicity, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin or ancestry, religion, age, veteran status, HIV status, pregnancy and/or any other protected status as defined by law.

Kindergarten to 3rd
- Utilize intervention strategies
- Do not exceed maximum consequences for 4th-5th Grade.
- General practice for K-3 is a suspension of no more than 3 days for a single incident and no referral to hearing.
- Additional consequences allowed with Associate approval
4th - 5th
- Utilize intervention strategies
- 1st Violation - Up to 1 day Suspension
- 2nd Violation - Up to 2 day Suspension
- 3rd Violation - Up to 3 days Suspension
Middle/ High
- Utilize intervention strategies
- 1st Violation - Up to 1 day Suspension
- 2nd Violation - Up to 2 day Suspension
- 3rd Violation - Up to 3 day Suspension
