New Mexico PED Dossier Submittal System

Advancement Requirements

From Level 1 to Level 2

  • 3 Full Years (480 instructional days) of being the teacher of record at current license level.
  • 3 Successful annual evaluations at current license level
  • Completed 1-year Mentorship 

From Level 2 to Level 3

  • 3 Full Years (480 instructional days) of being the teacher of record at current license level.
  • 3 Successful annual evaluations at current license level
  • Master's Degree

National Board Certified Teacher:

  • 3 Full Years (480 instructional days) of being the teacher of record at current license level.
  • 3 Successful annual evaluations at current license level
  • National Board Certification can be used in lieu of a Masters Degree
  • National Board Certification can be used as a bypass to the Dossier 

What to Expect

After you submit your Declaration of Intent to Advance, the Licensure Specialist will notify you via email of your eligibility to complete a Dossier or utilize bypass option. 

The submission window begins July 15 - March 31

If you submit your Dossier and pass before October 15th, you are eligible to receive the pay increase for the current school year. If you do not submit and pass before October 15th the pay increase will go into effect the following school year. NMPED Dossier Submittal Portal

Related Service Educators Advancement

The Career Pathway System for Essential and Related Service Educators (E&RSE) includes 5 criteria for movement from one level to the next. The 5 criteria (components) for movement in the Career Pathway System (CPS) are:

  1. Years of Experience
  2. Differentiated Evaluation Criteria
  3. Advanced Credential/Degree
  4. Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
  5. Professional Portfolio

160 instructional days per school year, 480 days total.
Advancement
Moving from Level 1 to Level 2 or Level 2 to Level 3. Also known as leveling up.
Albuquerque Public Schools Summative Evaluation
Year-end documentation of evaluation results for teachers who are not evaluated using scored observations and therefore do not receive a NMTEACH Summative Report.
Domain 1 and 4 scores
Provided on NMTEACH Summative Evaluation under Multiple Measures and APS Observation and PDP Summary. Based on artifacts and evidence.
Domain 2 and 3 scores
Provided on NMTEACH Summative Evaluation and APS Observation and PDP Summary. Based on observations. 
Observation and PDP Summary
End of Year Summary generated by APS for teachers with scores for Domains 2 & 3 / Domains 1 & 4 based on the NMTEACH Rubric.
Successful Evaluation
NMTEACH overall rating of Effective or above; 60% of the total possible points for Domains 2 & 3 / Domains 1 & 4; or APS Summative indicating meets competencies.
