The following maps are a result of the redistricting process that took place Fall 2022. They will become the official maps of the school district January 1, 2024 when the newly elected board members take office.

Board Member Elections
The next board elections will take place Nov. 4, 2025 for board districts 3, 6, and 7. Anyone considering filing as a candidate for a school board member position must:
- Be a registered voter.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Not be a convicted felon.
- An employee with Albuquerque Public Schools who has filed as a candidate for a school board member position and is elected to that position must resign as an employee to serve on the Board of Education (see APS Board of Education Policy GB12 and New Mexico State Statute 22-5-5External link ).
- Physical Residence Requirements:
- Physically reside in the school board district for which the individual is a candidate at the time the APS Board of Education votes on the proclamation acknowledging the upcoming election.
- Check with APS Board of Education Services at (505) 880-3729 or boarded@aps.edu to find out the exact date when the proclamation will be scheduled on an APS Board of Education agenda.
Redistricting Process
Redistricting is the process of redrawing the boundaries of election districts and is required by law to be done every 10 years to coincide with the results of federal census data collected. Redistricting is a process to ensure that political districts have as close as possible equal population in each district.
