Navigating Special Education Services
Information on special education services at APS.
Special Education Support for Military Families
At Albuquerque Public Schools, we understand that frequent moves and transitions can make navigating special education services more challenging for military families. Our Special Education Department partners with students, families, and staff to ensure every learner, ages 3 to 21, receives the support they need in safe, inclusive classrooms, no matter where their journey begins.
We’re here to guide you through APS special education services and procedures, helping you connect with resources, understand your child’s rights, and ensure continuity of support as your family moves between school districts or states. Learn more about Special Education at APS.
The New Mexico Public Education Department’s Office of Special Education provides statewide oversight and resources for schools and families. To learn more, including state rules, guidance, and additional supports, visit the NMPED Office of Special Education website.
