Transfers:

Families who would like their child to attend an APS school outside their assigned attendance area in 2020-2021 may apply online for a transfer. Request a transfer.

Mission Elementary School provides an engaging classroom environment focusing on STEM concepts and Project-Based Learning.

Garfield STEM Magnet and Community School combines Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with real-world problem solving and teamwork.

Valley High School provides a transformative learning experience for students and empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges.

Inez and San Antonito elementary schools also are STEM schools. Roosevelt Middle School offers the Global STEM Challenge which engage students in problem-based challenges connected to the real-world that are designed to teach concepts in mathematics, science, and engineering.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Sandia High is a highly rigorous, internationally recognized program of study to develop inquiring, open-minded, knowledgeable, risk-taking, principled, and reflective world citizens.

Cleveland Middle School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme which aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers. 

Global Leadership

The Global Leadership Magnet Program at Roosevelt Middle School integrates global competencies and issues into various academic subjects. This action-driven learning approach combines inquiry with meaningful action, motivating students to explore real-world challenges and apply their academic knowledge to create practical solutions. The program empowers students to become proactive problem-solvers and informed global citizens.

Arts Integration

The mission of the Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts is to instill an artist’s approach to learning so students will be able to take intentional risks to ask probing questions, and explain, justify, analyze, critique and create answers to complex, interdisciplinary problems through both an independent and collaborative approach to learning. 

Blended Learning 

BlendED at eCADEMY develops 21st Century skills through personalized digital and project-based learning with flexible scheduling. eCADEMY also offers classes for credit recovery and advancement.

Multiple Paths to Graduation

At School on Wheels, students explore careers and gain experience through job shadowing and internships as they earn their diploma.

Freedom High focuses on resiliency and decision-making strategies for success in the workplace and in college.

Early College High School

Students at College & Career High School, located on the campus of Central New Mexico Community College, earn a high school diploma along with their associate's degree or credits towards a bachelor's degree. At this US News & World Report Bronze School students receive free tuition and books!

Early College Academy students experience a high school environment with Career Enrichment Center and CNM courses on site. Early College Academy is a U.S. News and World Report Silver School.

Career Awareness & Readiness

At the Career Enrichment Center, students take classes in a variety of career areas including nursing, emergency medicine, engineering, languages and auto mechanics.

Project-Based & Technology

nex+Gen Academy High School offers a collaborative and rigorous learning experience focused on real-world projects in a technology-rich environment -- a New Tech Network National Demonstration School and US News and World Reports  "America's Best High Schools 2016."

Zuni Elementary School emphasizes project-based learning and collaboration using the latest technology.

Dual Language

We have many dual language schools such as Coronado and Longfellow elementary schools and Hayes middle school where students speak and learn in both English and Spanish. Students also can earn a bilingual seal on their diploma by completing a dual language program in high school.

Coronado is also the first Nationally Certified Magnet School in APS!

Family School 

Desert Willow Family School and Coyote Willow Family School are K-8 programs that combine public school classes with home-based instruction.
