November 2025 School Bond Election Overview

On November 4, 2025, Voters will decide whether to approve a $350 million bond for Albuquerque Public Schools. If passed, this bond would provide funding for school construction, renovations, and improvements across the district, which serves students in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties.

When will the Election be held?

November, 4, 2025, as part of the regular local election. Absentee voting starts on October 7, while early voting begins on October 18.

Who can vote?

All registered voters living within the Albuquerque Public Schools district are eligible to vote in the November 4, 2025, School Bond Election. This includes all of the city of Albuquerque, the county of Bernalillo, and the Village of Corrales in Sandoval County.

Question:  Authorization to issue up to $350,000,000 of General Obligation Bonds (School Bonds).

What this bond would pay for:

The $350 million bond would fund projects that directly impact students and schools across the district, including:

  • Building new classroom blocks at 14 schools
  • Installing school security and safety equipment, upgrades, and hardware
  • Upgrading cooling systems, including adding refrigerated air at 20 schools
  • Constructing a Career and Technical Education training facility for students 
  • Building a special needs facility on the West Side
  • Replacing outdated classroom roofs and artificial turf
  • Renewing and replacing student and teacher classroom furniture and equipment

The 2025 School Bond Election will have a major impact on our community. Approval of the $350 million bond would:

  • Give teachers and students modern facilities and equipment to support strong academic outcomes
  • Ensure safe, equitable, and appropriate school facilities across the district

  • Enhance safety and security at all APS schools
  • Support local jobs and provide an economic boost through construction projects
  • Keep property tax rates at their current level
