Medicaid School-Based Services staff promote wellness, serve as liaisons with local health community agencies, and provide resource materials, training, and information to school staff regarding Medicaid billing procedures and guidelines.
Medicaid Billing Operations is the MSBS program that allows APS and other participating school districts to bill the federal Medicaid system for services provided in the school setting to Special Education students who are Medicaid eligible and have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP).

To make sure the district can benefit from the APS-MSBS Program, you must give informed written consent allowing the district permission to provide services and bill Medicaid for the services.
The consent form is usually presented to parents at the IEP/IFSP meeting. Be sure to have your child’s special education teacher or special education representative review your rights regarding the consent form.
