Fostering Children and Youth in Our Community
Are you interested in fostering a child or youth in our community?
The New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department offers opportunities for you to foster a youth in our community.
Are you interested in becoming a Foster Parent? You can help a child stay connected to what they know and love.
Why foster? There are approximately 760 children and youth in foster care in our community, and many need safe, stable and loving homes. By becoming a foster parent, you can offer stability, consistency and hope when it matters most.
Foster Care Options:
- Traditional Foster Care
- Respite Short Term Care
- Specialized Care
You Can Foster As: Community-non relative care Relative/Fictive Kin- blood relative/ a trusted adult such as close family friend, neighbor, coach, or mentor.
