Foster Care

Offering services and support for children, youth, and their families involved with a child welfare agency.

Foster Care

Our Foster Care team members support our schools in meeting the educational needs of our children and youth involved with a child welfare agency (in foster care).

Services are provided for children and youth in the custody of the state: Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD), Treatment Foster Care (TFC), private placement, and those in the custody of Tribal Social Services (TSS).

Our Community Partners are welcome to GIVE in support of our children and youth involved with a child welfare agency: Foster Care GIVE List

What is a GIVE List? These are needs and resources we ask the community to offer. We encourage our community to give meaningful support that aligns with the needs of our children and youth involved with a child welfare agency.

    • Records transfers after enrolling; the enrolling school must immediately contact the previous school to obtain academic and other records.
    • A designated a point of contact that must collaborate with the state or local child welfare agencies to meet the educational needs of our children and youth involved with a child welfare agency.
