Reimbursement

Students that are enrolled with the Native American department can be reimbursed for various fees. These may include lab fees for core classes, college day, cap and gown, SAT/ACT fees.

The Indian Education Department assists eligible Native American students attending Albuquerque Public Schools.

Eligible students are those who have a completed 506 Form and/or a Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) on file in our office.

 The reimbursements are dependent on availability of Johnson O’Malley and Impact Aid funds. Our department utilizes the reimbursement process for services listed in numbers 1-7. To receive a reimbursement, you must give to the Indian Education Department an original receipt for items you purchased. All reimbursements for coursework must be confirmed with a successful passing grade.  The receipts will be brought and or scanned and emailed to Martinez_lydia@aps.edu, Indian Education Bookkeeper.  Students may receive reimbursement and/or assistance for the following (2 only):

  1. Cap and Gown fees for graduating seniors only ($45.00 maximum)
  2. SAT fees (1 time)
  3. ACT fees (1 time)
  4. Advanced Placement exam fees
  5. On line Core Course fees (for courses not offered during the regular school year and/or offered through Gradpoint or eCademy)
  6. College application fees to high school seniors up to a maximum of $100.00 for the first 50 students who apply this school year. 
  7. Eyeglasses for those students who qualify under Title 1.

 Note: eligible students may receive assistance for only 2 of items listed 1-7 (i.e., cap and gown and ACT fees).
