About the Position
Only active, internal employees can apply for the Class IV (Cook/Baker) position. The applicant must first have successfully completed the prerequisite test. The study guide for this test is available at the APS Food Service Complex and you must make an appointment to take the test by calling Stephanie Pinon at (505) 345-5661, extension 38242.
This position works 6.0 to 7.0 hours daily, starting hours vary from 6:00am to 7:30am. This position is responsible for planning and preparing all food items according to menus and recipes, and will also assist with all Class I responsibilities, including cashiering.
Current starting hourly rate is $12.47 and after successful completion of a six (6) month working probationary period (Class I time is included) (the non working months are June and July), the hourly rate will increase to $15.39.
As a permanent position, employees are eligible to receive eight (8) paid holidays and accrue sick leave and personal leave and participate in the APS retirement fund. Since this position is considered full time, employees are eligible for insurance (medical, dental, etc.) benefits.
