2026 APS Additional Summer Programs

Albuquerque Public Schools offer a variety of additional summer programs throughout the district.

Indian Education 

The Indian Education Department (IED) was established as part of the Albuquerque Public School district in 1974, with the primary purpose for advocacy and representation for the 115 different American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes enrolled in the school district. For the summer of 2026 IED will offer the courses below for K-12th grades students.  

Location: Del Norte High School 

Dates: June 8 - June 29  Monday - Friday (no program June 19th)

(off week of June 29 - July 3)

Program Resumes: July 6 - July 24

Times: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm 

Courses Offered:

  • Navajo 1 and 2
  • Zuni 1 & 2 
  • Navajo History-Government

Sustaining the Future

The Albuquerque Public Schools Office of Innovation and School Choice partners with innovative leaders and community to empower educators and students, elevate learning and transform education to equip all students with the knowledge, skills, and capacities for success in a rapidly changing world to grow Albuquerque's talented workforce. 

This summer the Office of Innovation will offer a free Eco-Makers Summer Camp for current Albuquerque Public School students K-5 that will consist of:

  • Gardening 
  • Robotics 
  • Composting
  • 3D Modeling
  • Game Design
  • Nature Crafts
  • Drones
  • Circuits and more

Location: Polk Middle School / Transportation will be available

Dates: June 8 - 18, 2026 / Monday - Thursday 

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. / Breakfast and lunch will be provided

Special Education Extended School Year (ESY)

Albuquerque Public Schools ensures that ESY services are available as necessary to provide FAPE. ESY services may be provided only if a child’s IEP Team determines, on an individual basis, that the services are necessary for the provision of FAPE to the child.

Below is a list of schools that will be providing Out of School Time (OST) at their sites.  These schools will NOT have any other programs provided.
