Kids N’ Parks Transportation Grant

New Mexico teachers at public K-12 schools, here’s your chance to have transportation costs covered to take your students on an educational field trip to any one of New Mexico’s State Parks. The application deadline has passed for the 2022-23 school year. Check back in summer/fall 2023 to apply for next school year.

You will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for this grant opportunity: 

  • Are a teacher or representative at a NM public or public charter school

  • K-12 class(es) (applications may combine more than one class at the same school)

  • Plans to travel to a NM State Park, and prior coordination with a State Park representative to discuss program options and dates before submitting

  • Obtain transportation quote from your local provider

  • Program correlates to classroom study and meets 1 or more performance standard from at least 2 benchmarks

  • Trip must be completed by the end of the ‘22-’23 school year

About the Grant

2022 is the 15th year that the New Mexico State Parks Division is offering Kids ‘N Parks Transportation Grants, a component of the New Mexico Outdoor Classroom Program. Funding has provided for 160,000 students to visit state parks!
