Our Programs
The primary program of the SMNHC is the 5th grade Ecology Field Program, offered for all Albuquerque Public Schools and Rio Rancho Public Schools 5th grade classes, and open to other schools in the area. The Travelling Ecology Field Program and Whitfield Program cover the same concepts and standards, and are taught in Belen and state parks and other outdoor areas around New Mexico.
All of our programs are focused on local ecosystems, their components and connections, are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards, and focus on student exploration, hands-on activities, and scientific concepts, processes, and research.
