PJ4 Admission Charge for Student Programs

Principals have the responsibility for supervision of the programs presented in their schools and shall determine whether or not admission charges should be made. In all cases, the principal, or his/her designee shall give approval before programs are established and the principal or his /her designee shall be responsible for approving the price of admission.

In general, if the student program is an outgrowth of the curriculum and is presented in order that families and the community may be informed of the school curriculum, no admission charge shall be levied. Examples are music concerts and art displays.

If the purpose of a school-sponsored program is to raise money and/or entertain the public, admission may be charged. Examples are varsity high school athletic contests, talent shows, and music festivals. These monies shall be deposited in compliance with appropriate finance procedural directives.
