PI25 Homework

Guidelines

Guidelines will be developed and implemented at each school to encourage homework that is appropriate and effective.

  • Homework should be reasonable, limited, and purposeful. The age of the student shall be considered in establishing limits on the amount of homework assigned.
  • Homework should be evaluated or reviewed promptly.
  • Care should be exercised to ensure that assignments do not place an unreasonable burden on the home, students, or public library facilities.
  • Homework should reinforce and extend the work in the classroom and benefit the student by providing practice and reinforcement.

Parent Complaints

Parents who have concerns or complaints about student homework assignments should contact the teacher to attempt a resolution of the concern.

If the teacher and parent are unable to resolve the complaint, the parent should contact the principal to resolve the complaint.
