J.14 Student Possession of a Firearm - April 2001 Revision

Students found to be in possession of a firearm while at school, at any school-related event, or at any time when the APS Student Behavior Handbook is in force, will be expelled from the
Albuquerque Public Schools for a minimum of one calendar year and the offender(s) will be referred to law enforcement or appropriate juvenile authorities.
The Superintendent may modify the disciplinary action on a case-by-case basis.
The definition of "firearm" from 18 U. S. C. 92 is summarized as, ". . . any weapon which will propel a projectile by the action of an explosive."
