BE Board of Education Meetings - July 2024 Revision

The Board of Education shall hold regular meetings monthly. The Board of Education may hold special, emergency or committee meetings.  All meetings of the Board of Education shall comply with the Open Meetings Act.

Within thirty days of the annual organizational meeting, the Board of Education shall establish an annual schedule of meetings and approve the Open Meetings Resolution that shall define reasonable notice for public meetings.

A majority of all members of the Board of Education shall constitute a quorum.

Final Board of Education approval of any action item shall require an affirmative vote by the majority of the Board of Education members at a regular or special meeting. This vote may be conducted either by a roll call or a voice vote of affirmation. The Board of Education shall not conduct a vote by secret ballot.

The Board of Education may grant permission to use digital signatures. Board members must consent to their use on an as needed basis. Digital signatures will suffice to make board documents final and official.

Emergency circumstances may require the reduction, cancellation and/or consolidation of board and committee meetings. During emergencies, agenda items will be limited to those considered urgent or those requiring action in order to conduct/continue district business.
