BB3 - Superintendent's Evaluation - April 2001 Revision

Notice: This policy was reviewed, revised, and/or renamed. We provide this revision for historic purposes only. Please see our current policies and procedural directives.

An effective working relationship between the Board of Education and the Superintendent is essential to the successful operation of the District. The development and maintenance of such a relationship may be assisted by a periodic review of the Superintendent's diverse responsibilities accompanied by an appraisal of the Superintendent's performance.

The Board will annually evaluate the Superintendent in compliance with New Mexico State Statutes and the State Board of Education's Educational Standards.

Based on a process and criteria that are mutually agreeable to the Board and the Superintendent, the Board will evaluate the Superintendent's effectiveness. The evaluation document and procedures to be used will be reviewed and approved annually by the Board and the Superintendent.

The schedule for evaluation will be outlined in the Superintendent's employment contract.
