School Calendars
Extended Calendar
- Teachers and staff at the 29 APS elementary schools on an extended calendar started the 2022-2023 school year on Thursday, July 28.
- The first day of school for extended-calendar schools is Thursday, Aug. 4.
Traditional Calendar
- Teachers and staff at all other APS schools start on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
- The first day of school for most APS schools, including all middle and high schools, is Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Online Registration
Please register your child for the 2022-2023 school year if you haven't already.
- Register through ParentVUE.
- The student information system can be accessed by computer, mobile phone, or tablet.
- If your device has a camera, you can upload photos of required documents, such as proof of residency.
- Register all of your children at the same time.

School Safety
Our schools are filled with people who love our kids and are doing their best to watch out for them. And we have protocols in place to keep them safe, from site safety plans, police officers and security guards on campus, safety training, and open lines of communication. We can't do this alone. We all have a role to play in ensuring our schools remain safe places for learning. Please talk to your children about gun safety, social media threats, and other safety issues that may arise at their school. Remind them that they should tell an adult if they hear about the possibility of a gun at school or if they know about a student who has a weapon. We repeat it all the time, but saying something when you see something truly makes a difference. It has helped prevent potential problems in the past and will help in the future.

What Bus Do I Ride?

- Please note: Some school bus stops are unavailable due to a school bus driver shortage. If your student is eligible for transportation, but you can't find a bus stop for them, please call 505-880-3989.

School Meals
No-Cost Meals
- Breakfast and lunch are free for all students who attend the 94 APS schools that qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision. List of Schools that Provide No-Cost Meals
- Students who don't attend these schools may still qualify for free or reduced-price meals, but their families must fill out an application. Apply for Free and Reduced Meal Assistance through Titan.
What's for Lunch?
- APS families use a system called Titan on their computer, tablet, or phone to make online payments to their children's cafeteria meal accounts.
- You can also use the Titan website or app to find out what's for breakfast or lunch.

School Supplies and Clothing Assistance
The APS Community Clothing Bank and School Supply Barn works with schools to provide students in need with clothes, shoes, undergarments, coats, and school supplies.

COVID-19 Updates
The COVID-19 virus spreads easily, and symptoms can range from mild to severe, which is why Albuquerque Public Schools, under the guidance of the New Mexichealth and education departments, has outlined COVID safe practices for the 2022-2023 school year.
- Students who are sick should stay home. Please let their school know they will be absent.
- If students are sick or have a fever, it is recommended that they take a COVID test, even if they are vaccinated.
- APS schools will provide free at-home rapid test kits for students who exhibit symptoms or have been identified as close contacts.
