From Feb. 17 through March 6, Albuquerque Public Schools students will be invited to share their voice through the Skills, Habits & Mindsets Survey—an important opportunity for students to reflect on how they experience school and for educators to better understand how to support them.

The survey focuses on key areas that research shows are critical for student success, including self-efficacy, perseverance, self-regulation and social awareness. Student responses help schools identify strengths, uncover areas for growth, and design supports that respond to students’ real experiences.

With a district goal of 95% participation, schools will use multiple strategies to ensure every student has time, access, and support to complete the survey. When students participate, they help shape decisions about classroom practices, school climate, counseling supports and districtwide initiatives.

Simply put: this survey turns student voice into action—giving schools the insights they need to support the whole child and continuously improve the learning experience across APS.
