2015 Graduates

    • All students planning on graduating in 2015 (seniors) meet with their counselor in January after first semester grades are posted to ensure they are on track to graduate.
    • Counselors will conduct a transcript and class schedule review with all seniors to ensure they are in program to earn the credits needed for graduation.  Students not on track to graduate will develop a written plan with their counselor and parent outlining how and when they will complete the required courses to graduate.
    • At this meeting the counselor and senior will complete the Demonstration of Competence Checklist to ensure the student has demonstrated competence in Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Writing as required by state law.  All potential 2015 graduates will complete this form.
    • Students will check the method they are using to demonstrate competence in each subject area.
    • Students may use different methods of showing competence in different subject areas.
    • Options set forth by NMPED will always be considered before using other options.
    • If a student has not successfully completed any of the Alternate Demonstration of Competence (ADC) options the school will continue to offer opportunities to retake the appropriate End of Course exam.
    • Students who believe they have demonstrated competency by another method not adopted in the ADC may appeal to the superintendent or designee, and shall be deemed to have demonstrated competency in that subject area if the appeal is successful.
