ARCHIVED Evening High School

Guidelines for Full-time Students

  1. Students who are at least 15 years of age but, who have not received a high school diploma, and who are not attending any high school are eligible to become full-time students at Evening High School.

  2. Students wishing to attend Evening High School must obtain an approval form to attend Evening High School.

  3. Students wishing to attend Evening High School should then apply at the Assistant Superintendent’s office responsible for schools of choice. At the time of application, they must present copies of their approval form, transcript, and immunization record.

Guidelines for Part-time Students

  1. Part-time students are those who attend a day high school and have permission from the school’s counselor or administrator to attend Evening High School as well.
  2. Permission forms for attending Evening High School on a part-time basis are available at all day high schools.
  3. No student may enroll without up-to-date immunization records on file in the District computer system.
  4. Part-time students must be classified as re-classified ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade students.
  5. Twelfth grade students may take more than two classes with an Evening School administrator’s approval. Tenth and eleventh grade students may take one or two classes.
  6. Graduating seniors will receive preference for placement in classes, if overcrowding is an issue.

Evening School Curriculum

  1. Evening High School does not offer any special education programs.
  2. Courses offered at Evening High School for credit toward graduation will be District approved courses as described in the APS High School Curriculum
