KC Charter Schools - April 2010 Revision

The Board of Education may approve the establishment of a charter school within the Albuquerque Public Schools district. Albuquerque Public Schools shall review all applications for locally authorized charter schools. The Board of Education reserves the right to deny an application for a charter school. The Board of Education reserves the right to suspend or revoke the charter of a locally authorized charter school.
Albuquerque Public Schools shall establish a process for application submission, review and approval or denial.
All contracts negotiated between the Albuquerque Public Schools and a locally authorized charter school shall include the requirements outlined in the Charter Schools procedural directive. The Board of Education shall deny the authorization or reauthorization of a locally authorized charter school if the requirements outlined in the Charter Schools procedural directive are not agreed upon and approved by both parties.
