KI Visitors to Schools - August 2012 Revision

Notice: This policy was reviewed, revised, and/or renamed. We provide this revision for historic purposes only. Please see our current policies and procedural directives.

Family members and community partners are encouraged to visit the schools and volunteer throughout the school year.

Conferences between visitors and employees shall not interrupt the educational process or interfere with employee assigned duties.

All visitors shall sign-in at the administrative office of the school. Visitors shall verify their identity and the purpose for their visit.  All visitors shall be required to wear identification of their visitor status while at the school.

A school administrator, or his/her designee, shall have the authority to reasonably deny a visitor access to a building or classroom if that denial is in the best interest of the school, staff or student.
