KL3 Restrictions to Restaurant Liquor Licenses Waivers - July 2024 Revision
Notice: This policy was reviewed, revised, and/or renamed. We provide this revision for historic purposes only. Please see our current policies and procedural directives.
As authorized by state law the sales of alcoholic beverages and cannabis may not be located within 300 feet of a school, church, or child day care facility. Albuquerque Public Schools will oppose in all cases alcohol or cannabis sales, or the granting of any waiver to a restaurant for the purpose of allowing the serving of alcoholic beverages within three hundred (300) feet of a school site in which instruction of students normally takes place. These sales and the granting of such a waiver would increase the risk to students and staff of encountering intoxicated persons who may potentially interfere with or negatively impact the instructional process; and, would increase the danger of vehicular accidents within the walk zones surrounding the school.
