JI1 Student Dress Code June 2021 Revision

Each Albuquerque Public School shall adopt an individual dress code appropriate for the school in the minimum standards set forth in administrative procedural directive. No local school board shall allow for the imposition of discipline, discrimination or disparate treatment against a student based on the student's race or culture or because of the student's use of hairstyles or cultural or religious headdresses.

Individual Albuquerque Public Schools may adopt student uniform dress codes. If a school adopts a student uniform dress code, the school shall develop, implement and document processes used to ensure thorough community input and community support for a student uniform dress code.  Albuquerque Public Schools shall provide accommodations for families who require financial assistance with the cost of uniforms.
