JH1 Release of Students - July 2024 Revision

School or class shall not be dismissed before the regularly scheduled hour for dismissal except with the approval from the superintendent, or his/her designee.
Custody of a student shall be relinquished by school personnel only to the parent/legal guardian or a student’s emergency contact as identified by the parent/legal guardian.
In extenuating circumstances, school personnel may relinquish custody of a student to law enforcement; however, in every case of an arrest of a student, Albuquerque Public Schools shall attempt to notify the student's parent/legal guardian.
