IH6 Graduation Requirements 2017 revised

This policy was updated January 2023.

Graduation requirements shall be established in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations. Albuquerque Public Schools shall require students to complete  one-half unit of health education aligned to high school content standards for high school credit as required by state law for graduation.

Albuquerque Public Schools recognizes the bilingual seal as an official seal for an Albuquerque Public Schools diploma that shall be awarded to a student who has met all requirements as outlined in state law and regulation and instructional program components as approved by the Board of Education.  District-required courses may be waived with the permission of the superintendent when it can be verified that waiving the requirement is in the best interests of the student.
