BG1 Emergency Administration, Temporary Suspension of Policies and Procedural Directives April 2020 Revision

The Board of Education grants authority to the superintendent to suspend any part of Board of Education policies and administrative procedural directives as they pertain to the administration of schools in the case of an emergency.

In emergency circumstances, the Board of Education may require the reduction, cancellation and/or consolidation of board and committee meetings.  During emergencies, agenda items will be limited to those considered urgent or those requiring action in order to conduct/continue district business.

Board of Education meetings will continue to comply with the OMA.

The superintendent shall report the facts and reasons for such suspension as soon as practical to the Board of Education.  The suspension of policy shall expire at the time of said report unless continued in effect by the Board of Education through a majority vote of Board of Education members.
