Happy Thanksgiving!

In his weekly message to employees, Supt. Elder thanks them for all they have done during this unusual school year.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we asked some of our students and staff what they are grateful for. Their responses were incorporated into a video that I am sharing with you here today. I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch (it's less than four minutes long!) It will warm your heart and make you laugh.

Many said they are grateful to be back in school. As one little boy put it, he is thankful for "seeing my friends for real instead of through a computer."

I, too, am grateful for being back in school and for the tremendous APS team that allows this to happen each day. I know it hasn't been easy, not even close, which makes me all the more appreciative of you and all you do.

You are in my thoughts this holiday season. I will be thinking about you as I enjoy my Thanksgiving bird. I hope you enjoy our little time off as well. Do what makes you happy. Whether that's eating mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, spending time with family and friends, catching up on TV shows or sleep, or whatever else, I wish you all the best.

Enjoy the video!
