Get Your APS Calendar!

We're distributing nearly 100,000 wall calendars to families and staff for the seventh straight year thanks to our partners with ABQ the Magazine.

  • School holidays
  • Fall, winter and spring break
  • Grading periods
  • Art shows
  • Metro sports championships
  • Testing windows

The Albuquerque Public Schools wall calendar provides these dates and more at no cost to families and employees thanks to a long-standing partnership with Albuquerque the Magazine.

To subscribe to Albuquerque the Magazine and benefit the APS Education Foundation, go to abqthemag.com and use the promo code APS2015Calendar.

For the seventh year in a row, Albuquerque the Magazine has designed and printed the calendars, saving the district more than a quarter of a million dollars. In addition, the Magazine is donating $3 for every new two-year subscription to the APS Education Foundation.

“We so appreciate Larryl Lynch, publisher of Albuquerque the Magazine, and his staff for creating such a beautiful calendar that not only is nice to look at but also contains pertinent information for our families and employees,” said Monica Armenta, executive director of APS Communications. “We value this long-time partnership with the Magazine. Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to create such an important commodity for our community.”

Copies of the 2015-2016 calendar will be distributed to families and staff during registration in the next few days. Extra copies will be available at APS headquarters, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE. During the school year, they can be spotted hanging in classrooms and school offices as well as in homes and businesses across the city.

This year’s 13-month calendar features photographs of APS students and teachers in schools that have been built or renovated with funding approved by taxpayers in school improvement elections. The next election is Feb. 2, 2016.

“Your investment in Albuquerque Public Schools has been essential,” APS Superintendent Dr. Luis Valentino says in his calendar message. “On Feb.2, 2016, the Albuquerque community will once again be asked to vote in a school improvement election that will allow APS to continue providing our students with the schools they deserve. We want to continue to build and maintain schools that will provide our children with a world-class education. We thank you for your past support and will continue to work hard to maintain your trust and confidence.”

In addition to important dates, the calendar includes helpful tips for parents on topics such as online grades and attendance, school meals, delays and cancellations, school transfers and more.

Several businesses stepped in this year to help cover the cost of the calendar including Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico, Discovery Education, Cornali Orthodontics, Comcast Internet Essentials and CNM.

For the first time, the calendar also includes coupons for families from a variety of area businesses.
