2011 Board Election

The Albuquerque Public Schools district is committed to make available as much information about school board candidates as possible. To give voters an idea of where the candidates stand on educational issues and their commitment to the APS Board of Education, all candidates for school board seats in Districts 1, 2 and 4 were asked to submit their answers to a questionnaire and to submit financial disclosures of their campaign contributions and expenses. Both of these items from each candidate are available below.

APS Board of Education 2011 Election

The election was held Tuesday, February 1, 2011, and according to unofficial results from the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office, Albuquerque voters re-elected current Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education President Marty Esquivel and chose two new board members in the election: Analee Maestas and Katherine Korte. Certified Candidates

14 candidates were certified to run for a seat in school board districts 1, 2 and 4 in the 2011 election.

There are two Campaign Finance Disclosures per candidate. These documents reflect campaign contributions and expenditures. The addresses of contributors have been removed to protect their privacy.

  • The first financial disclosures were due on January 10, 2011.
  • The second financial disclosures were due February 1, 2011.  These disclosures report any additional contributions and expenditures since the last financial disclosure deadline.

The Questionnaire reflects the candidates’ experience and their views on education issues.
