Web Team Styles
Web Team Branding and Styles
Following the APS Branding and Style Guide will provide consistency to the web editors and content contributors. The APS website is an informational site, and following a simple style is an accessibility feature of our site.
Process for New Styles
While the expectation is that the APS Style Guide will be followed, there is room for the styles to grow over time as we encounter new situations or engage in different sorts of content. The process to create new styles or applications is as follows:
- Outline the application of the new style in a proof of concept.
- Ask the following questions:
- Is this a functional style request, or a design request only?
- Is reformatting a current page template what is needed for this specific style?
- Will a new style need to be added, or can a current styles be adapted?
- How will this style benefit the site as a whole? Does the style request complement the existing style sheets?
- If new styles, or new applications of the current styles are the solution, consult with the Web Manager with a proof of concept, how this style will be implemented, and how content contributors would apply the new style.
