Eco-Makers Camp Inspires Student Innovators
Students Blend Technology and Nature in the Inaugural STEM Program
The Launch of a Green Initiative
The Office of Innovation proudly launched its first-ever Eco-Makers Summer Camp, a dynamic two-week program designed to merge technology with environmental stewardship. Aligned with the district's Sustaining the Future pathway, this immersive camp united passionate youth to tackle real-world environmental design challenges. Students were challenged to shift from passive consumers to active creators, using their unique talents to build solutions for a greener tomorrow.
Blending Nature with High-Tech Innovation
Participants dived into a unique fusion of natural exploration and advanced fabrication. They spent their days balancing outdoor field study—like bird watching and harvesting fresh vegetables—with high-tech maker skills. Students seamlessly jumped from picking garden herbs for tea to learning robotics and operating drones to complete tasks.
Cultivating a Mindset for the Future
Beyond learning practical agricultural and technical skills, the program cultivated a vital growth mindset. Through hands-on experimentation, students learned that failure is simply part of the creative process. By embracing the power of trial and error, they discovered how to persevere, iterate, and refine their designs until their environmental solutions came to life.
