Posted March 25, 2026, 9:05 AM. Updated April 8, 2026, 4:13 PM.

STEM-focused school earns top national recognition for innovation, equity and student success.

Inez Science and Technology Magnet Community School has been named a 2026 Top Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding magnet schools across the country.

The award highlights Inez’s commitment to rigorous STEM instruction, hands-on learning and equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities. As a science and technology magnet school, Inez engages students in inquiry-based, project-driven experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world challenges while building critical thinking, collaboration and innovation skills.

Principal Casey Reid-Kadlec said the recognition reflects the strength of the entire school community.

“Receiving this national recognition is a powerful reflection of the dedication of our teachers, students, and families,” Reid-Kadlec said. “At Inez, we believe every child deserves opportunities to explore, question, and discover. Our STEM magnet program creates spaces where students can think critically, collaborate, and see themselves as innovators who can make a difference in the world. This award celebrates the incredible work happening in our classrooms every day and the strong community that makes it possible.”

Superintendent Gabriella Blakey praised the achievement and the impact of magnet programs across the district.

“This recognition is a testament to the exceptional work happening at Inez and across our magnet schools,” Blakey said. “Magnet schools are another way we open doors for students, providing innovative, engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity and help prepare them for the future. We are incredibly proud of the Inez community for earning this national honor.”

Top Magnet School of Excellence awards are given to a select group of schools nationwide and are based on demonstrated success in raising student achievement, promoting diversity, delivering integrated curriculum and building strong family and community partnerships.

Reid-Kadlec will accept the award on behalf of the school at the Magnet Schools of America National Conference in April.
