January Finance Committee Wrap-Up

A summary of January's Board of Education Finance Committee meeting.

Decisions made and items approved! 
Catch the highlights from the most recent Finance Committee meeting in our monthly wrap-up. 

Funding Updates

• Grant adjustments: Approved new grant awards for the 2025–26 school year
• Budget shifts: Reallocated previously approved funds to areas with the greatest need (total budget unchanged)
• Monthly payments: Processed routine payments, including vendor invoices and employee payroll from December 2025

Donations

• Donation of $5,000 to Title I Homeless Project from McGinn Montoya Love Curry & Sievers PA, which will be used for general student learning and support
• Donation of $10,140 to Reginald Chavez Elementary School from Old Town Farm – Bike In Coffee general student learning support, and to support any art and/or music needs

Equipment Removed from Service

• Following statutory requirements, the Board approved the disposal of equipment

Purchasing Approvals

• Design firm approved for the new Westside Special Education Facility
• Design firm approved for a new classroom block and administration project for Whittier Elementary School
