December Finance Committee Wrap-Up

A summary of December's Board of Education Finance Committee meeting.

Big Moves for APS! 
APS is powering up! The Board of Education Finance Committee is making smart choices with district funds, bringing fun upgrades and a stronger future for our students and community.

Funding Updates

• Grant adjustments: Approved new grant awards for the 2025–26 school year
• Budget shifts: Reallocated previously approved funds to areas with the greatest need (total budget unchanged)
• Monthly payments: Processed routine payments, including vendor invoices and employee payroll from November 2025

Purchasing Approvals

• Electric buses & charging stations: Approved the purchase of 10 electric buses and 10 charging stations for a greener APS
• Playground installation services: Approved contracts to install new playgrounds and keep APS kids active
• Fine arts instruments: Approved the purchase of instruments to enhance music programs
• Insurance and claims audit services: Approved services to help manage district risk
