Schools, Board Holding Information Sessions

Mid-year update on APS goals, guardrails will be available at two different events.

The Board of Education is holding a pair of mid-year updates on Albuquerque Public Schools’ goals and guardrails and is inviting the public to participate.

On Tuesday, March 25, the Community Schools councils at Lavaland Elementary, John Adams Middle School and West Mesa High School are hosting a meeting and will share ideas about increasing attendance. 

The event will be held at Lavaland Elementary, 501 57th Street NW, from 5:30-7 p.m. Board members also will attend and share information on goals and guardrails that guide APS in improving student outcomes. A light dinner will be served. 

Please RSVP to boarded@aps.edu by March 19. Parking lots at Lavaland are accessible at Cloudcroft and Dona Ana streets.

On Thursday, March 27, Del Norte High School, McKinley Middle School and Hodgin Elementary are hosting a joint training on social and emotional learning at 4:30 p.m., with a Homework Diner to follow at 5 p.m. A board update will begin at 6 p.m.

The event will take place at Hodgin Elementary, 3801 Morningside Drive NE. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and an RSVP to boarded@aps.edu by March 21 is appreciated. Parking is available in lots off Morningside.
