Saturday’s School’s Out Night celebration during the United match was the perfect way to wrap up the year. Dozens of APS students and employees–including Matheson Park Elementary first-graders, APS soccer players, and a teacher choir—participated in the pre-game and half-time festivities. Board President Danielle Gonzales did the coin toss, and incoming Superintendent Gabriella Blakey and her nephew participated in the ceremonial first kick.
School’s Out Night was held to celebrate the hard work students and staff put in over the school year. It was also to highlight APS's new goals to improve outcomes for all students and ask families to tell the district how it’s doing in its efforts to improve early literacy throughout the district.
Even if you didn’t make it to School’s Out night, you still have time to let APS Board members know how its early literacy efforts are doing by taking the Albuquerque Public Schools Goal 1 Survey.
