APS Website Gets New Look
Redesign prioritizes a mobile-friendly user experience.
New Mexico’s largest school district is sporting a new look on the internet.
APS.edu has been revamped to make it easier to navigate and more visually appealing. The website receives nearly 2 million visitors a year.
The refresh is most noticeable on the homepage, which now features an updated color palette, a revamped A-Z directory, and more entry points for visitors to explore what’s happening at Albuquerque Public Schools.
The redesign also prioritizes a mobile-friendly user experience. More than 60% of visitors to the site use smartphones. APS Web Editor Shari King noted that the last time APS.edu underwent a significant refresh was in 2012. The way people used websites back then was significantly different than how they use them today, she said.
“We're focusing on making it so that users can find what they’re looking for,” King said.
The changes to the website were implemented on June 29.
