Update: All APS Schools Closed - Asynchronous Learning Day - Thurs., Nov. 7, 2024
UPDATE: As of 7 a.m., all APS students will be in asynchronous learning on Thursday, Nov. 7 due to snow and icy conditions, as well as intermittent power outages. Students are expected to complete lessons at home. Those who don’t have access to a digital device or the internet will be given additional time to complete assignments in class when they return.
Information For Employees :
- All employees not involved in asynchronous learning are expected to report for duty as close to their regular report time as is safely possible.
- If an employee does not report to work, they shall take eight hours of annual leave or one personal leave day.
As of 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, there is a 2-hour Delay for APS Schools, Asynchronous Learning Day for East Mountain Students on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024.
The 2-hour delay for APS schools does not include schools in the East Mountains. Schools in the East Mountains are in asynchronous learning for the day. Students in asynchronous learning are expected to complete lessons at home. Those who don’t have access to a digital device or the internet will be given additional time to complete assignments in class when they return.
APS schools not affected by the East Mountain asynchronous learning day will have a 2-hour delay on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024.
Information for Students Who Will Have a 2-Hour Delay:
- Manzano High School students living in Albuquerque remain on a 2-hour delay.
- School begins 2 hours later than the regular schedule.
- School bus pick-up times are 2 hours later than the normal pick-up time.
- General Education PreK is on a 2-hour delay.
- School ends at the regular time.
Additional Activity and Class Cancellations:
- Zero hour activities
- All Special Education Preschool Classes and Therapies
- Career Enrichment Center - No classes when school is delayed
- Early College Academy will run from 10:40 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
Asynchronous Learning Information for East Mountain Schools:
East Mountain schools students are in asynchronous learning on Thursday, Nov. 7. Students in asynchronous learning are expected to complete lessons at home. Those who don’t have access to a digital device or the internet will be given additional time to complete assignments in class when they return.
Students in Asynchronous Learning:
- A. Montoya Elementary School students
- San Antonito Elementary School students
- Roosevelt Middle School students
- Manzano High School – students who live in the East Mountains. Manzano High School students living in Albuquerque remain on a 2-hour delay.
Information For Employees – 2-hour Delay Guidelines:
- All employees (school-based and non-school based) are expected to report for duty as close to their regular report time as is safely possible. This allows a maximum delay of two hours. Arriving late to work is only acceptable when severe weather causes hazardous driving conditions, not due to mechanical issues caused by cold weather.
- If an employee does not report to work, they shall take eight hours of annual leave or one personal leave day.
