Quick Tips for Entering Leave Requests

Employees are required to enter their absences.
Steps to Enter Leave Requests
Step 1: Log into Infor/Lawson
- Login from a Windows PC or Apple Mac system inside the APS network.
- Compatible with Internet Explorer 11, Firefox, or Safari internet browsers only
- User ID is your e-number (eXXXXXX).
- Enter your APS computer password in the Password field
- Click on the blue Login field; the Lawson/Infor home page appears
Step 2: Navigating Employee Self Service (ESS)
- Click on Bookmarks (top left)
- Hover over Employee Self Service and move cursor to the right
- Click on Time Off Req-Balances; you will now see Leave Balances
Step 3: Adding a Request for Leave
- Click on gray Add Request field (lower left)
- New Request box will appear
- Click on Type drop-down arrow, choose type of leave being requested after viewing current leave balances available and click Continue
Enter Your Day or Date Range:
- If entering a Single Day, no need to enter any dates in Date Range
- If entering a Date Range with non-congruent work days (Friday-Monday or a holiday), enter on Single Day
Select Your Hours:
- Teacher Schedule: 6.5 hours all day or 3.25 hours half day
- Principal/Support Staff: 8 hours all day or 4 hours half day.
- Use the Comment Field to add any additional information, e.g., doctor appointment, vacation
Step 4: Submit Your Leave Request
- Click on Submit
- New Request will be listed below leave balances
- Your principal/supervisor/manager will receive an email instructing them that you have entered a time off request using ESS and that they should approve it using MSS.
- Employees who currently have to request for a substitute through sub-services system will continue to do so.
