COVID Update: Booster Requirement

New public health order goes into effect in January.

All school workers in New Mexico must provide proof they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a booster shot if eligible, or participate in weekly surveillance testing beginning Jan. 17.

The booster requirement is included in a new Public Health Order released Dec. 2. The order also requires all schools (private, public, and charter) to maintain records of school worker vaccination status in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations and to provide such records to the Department of Health upon request.

 Beginning in January, APS will be asking for proof of vaccination. More information on uploading proof of vaccination will be provided after winter break. All New Mexico residents may obtain an electronic copy of their vaccine records from the Department of Health: Vaxview NM: Access My Immunization Record.

Employees who don't have proof of vaccination will be required to participate in weekly surveillance testing.
