Students, families and neighbors came together for music, chile roasting and balloon fun during the school’s early morning celebration.

Valle Vista Elementary didn’t just watch the balloons rise during the annual Balloons Aloft event—they turned the morning into a full community celebration!

Fifth grade student drummers set the rhythm while families shared their creative balloon projects, the smell of roasting chile filled the air, and a neighborhood musician—who returns year after year—kept the joyful tradition alive.

It was the perfect way to unofficially kick off the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and celebrate the vibrant Valle Vista community.
