Staff Recognized for Excellence in Student Achievement
APS Board of Education honors team members for their vital role in advancing student success.
The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education recently recognized seven outstanding team members who received the New Mexico School Boards Association Excellence in Student Achievement Award.
The NMSBA Excellence in Student Achievement Awards honor individuals who play a vital role in supporting student success. Recipients are nominated by local boards of education and may include teachers, administrators, support staff, volunteers and community members. The awards celebrate the collaborative effort required to help students thrive and improve educational outcomes across New Mexico.
While APS has traditionally nominated one individual each year, the district expanded its recognition this year by nominating seven employees. The nominees were selected from the district's Employee of the Month and Teacher of the Month honorees, highlighting the exceptional work taking place across APS schools and departments.
The APS Board of Education recognized the recipients during its June 3 meeting, celebrating their dedication, leadership and commitment to helping students succeed.
The recognition reflects the many ways APS employees make a difference every day, whether through instruction, support services, leadership or relationship-building with students and families.
The award program has been a longstanding tradition of the New Mexico School Boards Association, recognizing educational excellence and student-centered work in school districts across the state.
