S.R. Marmon Collects 1,000+ Boxes of Cereal for Local Food Banks
School surpasses its goal and celebrates with a fun cereal box domino chain.
Students and staff at Susie Rayos Marmon Elementary School showed the power of community and generosity during their second annual cereal drive, donating 1,072 boxes of cereal to local food banks.
The school had set an ambitious goal of 800 boxes after collecting 500 last year, and they far exceeded it!
To mark the occasion, the halls of S.R. Marmon were lined with cereal boxes for a schoolwide cereal domino chain, a fun and festive way to celebrate their success and see just how far their kindness stretched.
“Super proud of them!” said Principal Ami Montoya, who credited the students and staff for coming together to make a difference in their community.
The cereal drive is just one of many ways S.R. Marmon students are learning that helping others can be fun—and that a small box of cereal can create a big impact.
